Haggard Cat (8), a duo formed of the former band HECK opened the main stage for final day of 2000 Trees 2018. The band drew quite the crowd, despite the early slot and quite a few obvious hangovers! Opening with a repeated guitar riff, the crowd fell silent as punchy drums were brought in and the song transformed into ‘Grave Digger’. The duo didn’t let up with their onslaught of riffs, which were cleverly coupled with danceable e...

Scottish rockers The XCERTS released their fourth studio album, Hold On To Your Heart in January. We caught up with Tom Heron (drums) between the band’s sets at 2000 Trees festival to talk about touring, recording, and their plans for the rest of 2018!

Hi Tom! Murray and Jordan just played their Forest Session. How was that?

Despite the odd smattering of precipitation which may have just been the result of the date being Friday the 13th, the second day of 2000 Trees 2018 was fantastic. With sets from Grumble Bee, Vodun, Creeper, Touche Amore, Jamie Lenman, Twin Atlantic and many, many more, you can imagine what went down.

It's that time of the year again. The sun is beaming down, cans are being popped left right and center and it's clearly evident that we're within the midst of another fantastic festival season. We sat down with Will Gardner (vocals) and Liam Kearley (drums) ahead of their Cave headline set to discuss their forthcoming album, and all things 2000 Trees.

Hi guys, how are you guys feeling about coming back to 2000 Trees and headlining The Cave this year?

Both: Amazing.

Oh my days, we are only a few days away from one of the most celebrated, renowned and loved festivals within the UK, 2000 Trees. The past few years have seen the festival explode in stature, with many praising it for it’s emphasis on nurturing emerging talent, laid back communal atmosphere and avoidance of corporate elements. With this year boasting what is arguably it’s biggest line up thus far, with At The Drive-In, Twin Atlan...

Considering 2000 Trees has so much going on, it may just get you wishing for some time to sit quietly with a cool pint (editors note - It's probably going to be a lukewarm tinnie of dark fruits) in your hand. The Forest Stage gives you the perfect opportunity to do so, with some exclusive stripped back sets from some fantastic bands and artists. Below are a few we think are not to be missed!

Continuing our top 10 list of essential bands to watch at 2000 Trees 2018, we've hand selected some newcomers and established acts who perfectly resonate the noisy, friendly and artistic ethos that the festival proudly holds to so dear. Of course, whilst we would love to create a top 50 or so list of bands, we sadly don't have the time. With that in mind here's our final 5 bands which you need to watch at 2000 Trees next weekend!
