After years of begging, hoping and praying, the greebo gods have finally answered our calls. For the first time since the event’s inception in 2012, Slipknot will bring their now annual festival Knotfest to the UK next year. Taking place at the 65,000 capacity Milton Keynes Bowl on the 22nd of August 2020, the day is set to be a colossal celebration of Slipknot’s career and a day of jovial musical aggression, with this year’s events featuring nam...

Jamie Lenman is a man that needs no introduction. We’ve watched his energetic performances at 2000 Trees, enjoyed his records for years, and honestly, it’s no secret that we really quite like him. When the announcement of a tour supporting his latest musical feat, Shuffle was released, we jumped at the chance to head to ye olde ship Thekla to party with him and the mighty Haggard Cat.
Opening the show at Thekla was Haggard Cat (9), a band came fro...

It’s 11am, artisan coffee is being consumed en-mass and in true ArcTanGent fashion, the iron skies above have opened. With that in consideration, it seems to be the perfect environmental backdrop for the desolate beauty of A.A Williams (8). Sorrowful and ponderously ghostly, Williams and her backing collective perfectly embody the gathering storm outside the Arc stage, providing the ideal soundtrack for the sobering bleakness o...

Bristol math rock three-piece Sœur’s (7.5) first set of the weekend was colossal. The harmonies of vocalist/guitarists Tina Maynard and Anya Pulver were hauntingly beautiful, a perfect juxtaposition with their meaty riffs. They flew through old favourites including ‘Fight’ and ‘Slow Days’ and treated us to newer material too. Their latest single, ‘Do What I Want’ sounded huge with the audience singing the words back to the band....

The true mark of any modern day artist is the ability to appreciate, adapt and respond to the ever discombobulating world spinning around us. Whether that means reaping inspiration from the enchanting myths of extinct civilisations, literary juggernauts, iconic soundtracks or visual marvels that helped define a generation of galvanised provocateurs.
This overreaching framework has been perfectly crafted within the latest passion p...

We all thought that 2000 Trees Festival was looking mighty fine this year. With two sets from Jamie Lenman, ‘excited’ doesn’t even come close to how we’re feeling. This morning they treated us to a further 23 brilliant bands, resulting in a line up that’s pretty perfect.
Hardcore punks Cancer Bats will be bringing their energetic live show to The Cave on Friday 12th July. They’ve been touring extensively over the past year and show no signs of...

Despite the odd smattering of precipitation which may have just been the result of the date being Friday the 13th, the second day of 2000 Trees 2018 was fantastic. With sets from Grumble Bee, Vodun, Creeper, Touche Amore, Jamie Lenman, Twin Atlantic and many, many more, you can imagine what went down.
Multi-instrumentalist and producer Jack Bennett performs under the alias of Grumble Bee (8). He opened the Forest...

Considering 2000 Trees has so much going on, it may just get you wishing for some time to sit quietly with a cool pint (editors note - It's probably going to be a lukewarm tinnie of dark fruits) in your hand. The Forest Stage gives you the perfect opportunity to do so, with some exclusive stripped back sets from some fantastic bands and artists. Below are a few we think are not to be missed!
