A year ago to the day, Liverpudlian pop punk collective WSTR last stepped foot on Deaf Institute’s stage. Despite supporting fellow Brits Roam, it was clear they’d brought their own crowd to the sold out show, as fans knew every line from their debut album Red, Green or Inbetween. Since then, they’ve signed to Hopeless Records and released a second album Identity Crisis (which was rated 7.5/10 by Noizze) and have sold out multiple dates of this t...

It's fair to say that currently pop punk is in an unusual state. The sex and genitalia jokes that helped shape what the genre became in the mid to late 90's would feel out of place in this day and age. The truth though, is that pop punk doesn't seem to be keen on reinventing itself any time soon; so if you didn't tune out in...

Attempting to ease hangovers this morning are Texans Whiskey Myers (6) who play a Southern-fried take on bluesy, country rock. It’s easy, inoffensive listening but still packs a decent wallop; the band pack some seriously bluesy riffs into their easygoing rock’n’roll. They've slayed the infamous Warped Tour, worked with both J...

As we steam forward through 2017, and sure enough like death and taxes, festival season is almost upon us. The Summer is the UK’s time to scream its lungs out and given the difficult climate that we’ve all been through as a society, this year could be venting more steam than Thomas The Tank. Dotted around the country, all manners of festivals will be taking place and come this July, Bristol will see an alternative, pop-punk and metal takeover.

What better way to brush away the gloomy January blues than a night of pop punk goodness at Birmingham's O2 Academy, Headlined by Canadian rockers Seaway. Two years on since their last UK visit supporting punk titans Neck Deep, Seaway return hungry to show off their latest album Colour Blind and armed with three almighty supports, Britain's very own up and coming talents: WSTR, The Gospel Youth and Coast To Coast

Starting the night right with a co...

With many new and exciting things approaching in the new year of 2017, the release of WSTR's debut 'Red, Green or Inbetween' on the 20th of January is definitely one of them - which luckily for us we snagged ourselves an early listen of. The last two years have seen the Scouse pop punkers move from strength to strength as they found their sound, improving with every release of new material, all leading up to their longly awaited full length soo...
