Handmade Festival in Leicester enters its fourth year in 2017. Kicking off on the last weekend of April, it describes itself as a ‘totally independent music and arts festival’, showcasing a variety of forward thinking music, comedy, art, film, performance and photography at venues spread across the city, including the O2 Academy Leicester, University of Leicester Student Union and the Attenborough Arts Centre but with additional venues announced closer to the bank holiday weekend.
This year’s headliners include Glaswegian rockers Twin Atlantic and indie band Frightened Rabbit and the festival will also host artwork from De Montfort University students and graduates. Other acts who have been confirmed so far for this year’s Handmade Festival line up include Pulled Apart By Horses, Tigerclub, Honeyblood, Van Zeller, British Sea Power, Ash Mammal, Puppy, Kermes, God Damn, Fizzy Blood, Demob Happy, Shame, Fish, Superfood, Happyness, Life, Willie J Healey, Charlotte Carpenter, Magique, Arcades, Get Inuit, Meat Wave, Youth Man, OHBOY!, YR Poetry and Idles amongst others.
Personally, here at Noizze, we can’t wait to see Dead!, Muncie Girls, Cabbage and Happy Accidents. With such a diverse line up of exciting artists and bands it is hard not to be! Keep your eyes peeled for more announcements over the coming months! Handmade Festival will take place in Leicester on the 29th and 30th April 2017.
