5 Unmissable Slam Dunk moments!

With just two weeks to go until Slam Dunk weekend, we at Noizze are exceptionally excited for one of the biggest festival weekends in the calendar. We have provided you with 5 unmissable SD moments to get you just as buzzing as we are!

After a decade of incredible headliners in Slam Dunk’s arsenal, the anti has been upped with none other than Enter Shikari. Not only is it Enter Shikari, it’s the 10th anniversary of 2007’s ground-breaking Take to the Skies. Get your finger strobe lights ready and your pit shorts out, as Shikari are a dead-cert to put on one of the most memorable and nostalgic performances of the festival. Fans can hopefully look forward to tracks such as ‘Jonny Sniper’, ‘Ok, Time for Plan B’, ‘Mothership’ and the iconic ‘Sorry, You’re Not a Winner’. Shikari are no strangers to putting on a show, so get your raving shoes on and prepare for strobes, pyro and an absolutely unforgettable show.

We all remember sitting in our rooms at 13, belting out the old classics. Amongst those classics would be 'House of Cards' and 'One Last Kiss' by the ever loved Madina Lake. With the heartbreak of their four year hiatus, we can rejoice with their reformation for From Them, Through Us, To You ‘s 10th anniversary and luckily their comeback tour crosses paths with Slam Dunk. So dig out those god awful skinny jeans, multiple belts, slap on some unnecessarily thick eyeliner and enjoy the of a nostalgia of being an angsty teenager.

Although we get to say a massive welcome back to the boys in Madina Lake, sadly, we have to wave goodbye to Essex quartet We Are The Ocean. Their 10 years as a band have been jam packed with relentless touring across the globe (including Slam Dunk on numerous occasions) and some great music releases. From their first debut EP, We Are The Ocean, all the way up to their most recent release of Ark in 2014, we can guarantee these guys have been a large part of most of our teenage lives. The three dates of the festival will be the final run of We Are The Ocean farewell shows, coming full circle from their first Slammy D back performance way back in 2008. Make sure you come wave goodbye to our Slam Dunk veterans!

Slam Dunk is going to be incredibly special for Michigan based metalcore outfit I Prevail and Melbourne’s own Ocean Grove, as these shows will be included in their first ever UK leg of performances. Both bands are certainly going to make waves across the UK scene, so don’t say we didn’t warn you to catch their sets! You may have heard I Prevail’s cover of Taylor Swifts’ insanely catchy ‘Blankspace’, but these guys are much more than a ‘Punk Goes Pop’ addition. If you are a fan of bands like A Day To Remember, Issues and We Came As Romans be sure to check these guys out- fusing metalcore, which some of the most catchy choruses, you can catch I Prevail on the Impericon Stage.

One of the most chaotic and energetic sets will be coming at you from Australia’s Ocean Grove, who released the superb album The Rhapsody Tapes earlier this year. Mixing a hybrid of nu-metal, hardcore and straight up ambiguity, Ocean Grove have supported some of the Land Down Under’s finest imports like Parkway Drive and the Amity Affliction. If you’re after a performance that will result in chaos, look no further than the Rocksound Breakout Stage.

We all love a good party, one thing Slam Dunk is notorious for is bringing the PARTY! But who loves to party more than anyone? That’s right. UPRAWR. This year, the excellent team at UPRAWR will be hosting the carnage with their very own stage which will incorporate both acoustic and DJ sets. If that wasn't enough, they will also be holding all three official after parties-which will be guaranteed to be crazy, so if you can grab yourself a ticket to these, get on it ASAP!
