World, meet alternative rock four-piece Rest Assured. After dropping their debut single 'Colours' in December last year the Manchester/Bolton rockers are exclusively premiering their brand new song '22' with us here at Noizze and we couldn't be happier to do so.
Rest Assured is:
James Bowling - Vocals/Rhythm Guitar
Jonny Gallagher - Lead Guitar
Ciro Guadagno - Bass
Danny Blinkhorn - Drums
James Bowling tells us: "It’s quite interpretive, like all music. We don’t really want to give too much away in terms of the lyrics direct meaning… we want our listeners to take the song as a whole so it can make them feel a certain way that is personal to them. As an outline, the song is really about being stuck in certain situations and routines that seem to become repetitive and quite detestable. Everyone has a certain awareness sometimes that can best be described like watching yourself play out your own life. Although sometimes you know that the things you’re doing aren’t quite improving yourself as a person. They may even be detrimental. I would say this alongside the frustrations that surround everyday life and social situations played a pivotal part in the writing and structure of the lyrics. The intensity of the instruments, their varying speed and consistency also play a part in carrying and emphasising the emotiveness of the song. Like we said though, although you can take some of the words at face value, it’s important for a piece of music to possess an element of idiosyncrasy for each listener."
