The Wombats To Tour This Month

The Wombats are a band instantly recognised within the indie/rock scene. Since the release of their debut album, A Guide to Love, Loss and Desperation in 2007, they’ve been known for their synth sounds, poppy guitars, and songs of drunkenness and losing in love.

After a few years of relative silence, The Wombats came back late last year with anniversary shows for their debut album. Alongside these shows was the announcement of a brand new album, titled Beautiful People Will Ruin Your Life.

The Wombats’ fourth studio album is filled with catchy tracks that could comfortably be played at massive festivals, and while the lyrical content hasn’t changed all that much, their sound appears to have mellowed and matured. Beautiful People peaked at number three in the UK charts, and The Wombats are selling out tour dates left, right and centre.

Their summer is already shaping up to be a busy one; they’ve recently announced that they’re supporting Weezer and The Pixies throughout July, and there will be sets played at festivals in both the UK and Germany.

If The Wombats can play a headline show as coherent and enjoyable as their latest LP, their run of UK dates will certainly be ones you wouldn’t want to miss. Check them out this March on the following dates:
