Download Festival Rekindles the Masses with a Colossal Announcement!

October 26, 2018

An unexpected turn of events with the strident news of the closing early bird ticket date announcement; Download Festival trailblazer Andy Copping drops the breaking news two days later that a gigantic Download announcement is coming this way; cunningly teasing with pictures through his very own Instagram account.

Friday night will see British chart peaking heavyweights Def Leppard take the stage for a gratifying headlining performance of their classic 1987 album ‘Hysteria’ in its entirety. This will be an extravaganza to be witnessed by all to celebrate the triumph of ‘Hysteria’.

Assembling the party too, will be the outrageous masquerade of Nu-metal maestros Slipknot, right on the edge of the twentieth anniversary of their self-titled debut. Gracefully known as being part of the Download family and fronted by metal legend Corey Taylor, Slipknot will invade the stage with their notorious masks for a return to where they so rightly belong.

From a darkness where silence is born; unusual progressive and alternative geniuses Tool, will hit the main stage as the third headliner of Download 2019 with pure determination; wreaking mayhem in the sanctuary of beloved rock and heavy metal.

Joining the three monstrous headliners will be rockers Slash Featuring Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators, fronted by the pompous Alter Bridge vocalist Myles Kennedy and accompanied by top hat guitar wizard Slash; delivering a thumping performance with signature riffs and heavenly vocalisations to fascinate listeners in comprehensive wonder.

Shock rock master Rob Zombie will revisit the realm of Castle Donington, bringing hell to the pits and commanding all heavy metal onlookers to partake in the ceremony; in the most outrageous fashion. So, be prepared for another instalment of thickened grime and filth.

David Coverdale is a name designated in the halls of Hardened bluesy rock and is simply someone you would relate to the mammoth hit of ‘Here I go Again’. Whitesnake have been added to the tremendous endeavour of Download 2019, to keep all types of rock and metal fans on their toes with exhilaration for this experience of triumphant rock ‘n’ roll.

For the better, modern thrash artists Trivium will conquer the walls of Donington Castle once more. Trivium will embark on another ferocious outbreak commanding the Download dog to wreak havoc in the grounds of the park.

Controversy has hit home alongside this announcement, with South African hip hop twosome Die Antwoord being put alongside this flock of musical allies. Fronted by enthusiastic rap vocalists Yolandi Visser and Ninja, Die Antwoord will bring something dissimilar to the site of the infamous Donington Race track.

Other entries to the roster will be Swedish melodic death metal Vikings Amon Amarth sailing their ships of Nordic warriors across the seas of the British channel, alongside Welsh ragga metal stylists Skindred; knocking out the arena of Download 2019 with the Newport Helicopters in full swing.

Together with this issue of Download Festival, experienced death metallers Carcass, Dutch symphonic metallers Delain, ska-punk lunatics Reel Big Fish, hard rock veterans Tesla, favourites The Amity Affliction, covers supergroup Me First and the Gimme Gimmes, progressive metal superiors Opeth and hardcore devotees Underoath; will also join the pack.

This announcement transports excitement to the joyful tears of fans around the United Kingdom for just the beginning of an incredible first episode of announcements from Copping. So, from devoted months of secrecy, the suspense from the wait for breaking news of Download 2019 is exactly what the doctor ordered.
