Fresh onto the scene, British newcomers DAY bring their debut single and music video for melodic metal track 'Reverie'. The duo, comprised of Christina Rotondo on vocal duties and Ali Marshall pulling the strings on guitar, infuse technical riffs and tight production with resounding vocals, using ambient sounds to emphasise on the weight of the lyrical content to (hopefully) strike a chord somewhere within you, the listener.
The sheer power and capability of Christina's vocals are evidenced by a huge portfolio of cover songs on her own personal YouTube channel, where she demonstrates her ability to keep up with the likes of Architects, The Amity Affliction, Tonight Alive and more. On top of this she's previously worked with various other artists, featuring on songs by both Home Wrecked and Dream Awake.
Ali on the other hand is well versed in the art of production, helping other artists with recording, mastering and mixing their songs via his London based business. “For the past three years, I’ve been honing my skills by working with musicians like Christina and using resources such as URM Academy to learn the craft of producing music” Ali explains.
Initially aiming just to work on a cover song together for Alexisonfire's 'This Could Be Anywhere In The World', the London based pair started writing together, sending their ideas between each other to eventually form their first single under the moniker of DAY.
“This feels right, and is some of the best music I have ever written” remarks Christina on the creation of this new project. With their talents combined, DAY are set to make their name known, boasting two incredibly talented members capable of recording and mastering their own sounds to perfection, few bands would be capable of coming straight out of the box with such a high quality demonstration of what's to come in their future; listen to DAY's brand new single Reverie below:
