Last week came with exciting news for the metal scene in France, with the lineup announcement for Hellfest Open Air, in Clisson, near Nantes, on 21st-23rd June 2019. It’s looking to be an exciting lineup, with big names like Manowar, Kiss, and Tool taking the headline spots on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday respectively. Dropkick Murphys and Dream Theater will also take to the stage on Friday night, diversifying the lineup somewhat and proving that this festival will have something for everyone, with the “Classic Rock” Saturday lineup solidified with the likes of Def Leppard and Whitesnake, joined by veteran rockers Lynyrd Skynard and Slash on the Sunday.
Other lineup highlights include Slayer headlining the second stage on the Sunday for their final ever French show, as part of their farewell “Final World Tour”, as well as hardcore punk veterans Refused, Enter Shikari, and Cancer Bats making for an exciting triple bill on the small stages where the mosh pits are sure to be moving fast. Other big names familiar to any metal head will also be a highlight with Architects, Cradle of Filth, Carach Angren, Combichrist, The Sisters of Mercy, and Cannibal Corpse all making appearances as well.
Argon Events will run a shuttle coach service to the festival from more than 70 locations in the UK, with more info to be found here. Advance 3-day pass tickets have already sold out, with more ticketing information set to be released early in the new year. For more information, check the website.
