Brutal Assault Announce Even More Bands For 2019!

January 30, 2019

More exciting news from Josefov Fortress in Czechia dropped earlier this month, with a whole load of new bands confirmed for the lineup of Brutal Assault 2019.

Immediately, attention shifts to the inclusion of Poland’s extreme metal titans, Decapitated, firmly back on the touring scene after making headlines with a false arrest in the United States in 2017 before subsequently being cleared of all charged four months later. Canadian progressive metal veterans Voivod also join the lineup, providing another element of unpredictability to an already eclectic celebration of all things heavy.

Animals As Leaders are another highlight, joining previously-announced Meshuggah for festival goers to get their djent fix, as well as the innovative Brazilian thrashers “Violator” making their debut appearance in Central Europe. Other notable acts include folk-metallers Ensiferum, and Boston hardcore legends Slapshot. They will join the plethora of bands already on the lineup, from Myrkur and Metal Church to Of Mice & Men and even the weirdness that is Diablo Swing Orchestra. With such an eclectic lineup, Brutal Assault 2019 is shaping up to be a festival not to miss.

Unfortunately, not all the news is good. For unspecified reasons, the Norwegian black metal favourites Dimmu Borgir recently announced that they would have to pull out of the festival. Festival spokespeople announced that they were in talks with the band about adding them to the 2020 lineup. Regardless of this though, with 130 bands across 5 stages in 4 days, there will be very little for attendees to be disappointed about.

Tickets are available now from the festival’s official website and it is recommended to act fast because previous years have all been fast sell outs for the Czechian festival; with metalheads from all over Europe and the World all congregating in the fortress for the week of extreme metal partying. As always, affordable flights to Czechia and neighbouring Poland are available through the usual budget airliners, and we will keep you updated with more information and band announcements as they come in. As for now, check out the full line-up below!
