Slam Dunk Announce Final Bands For 2019 Lineup

February 14, 2019

Slam Dunk are known for never doing things by halves and that’s why we really should have expected for them to drip feed their final line-up throughout the early hours of the morning…

The first video dropped at 4am, showing Neck Deep’s Ben Barlow backstage on tour and announcing the pop punk quintet’s attendance. They headlined the festival’s Monster Energy stage in 2017 and are guaranteed to put on a raucous show.

The following announcement at 6am was less smooth as it simply showed As It Is and their crew battling the snow as their tour bus got stuck in North America. The Brighton collective will come armed with new material from their latest album The Great Depression.

Later on Boston Manor, A Loss For Words, Story Untold and Between Me & You were revealed. The latter two were recently signed to Hopeless records, with BM&Y also going on tour with label mates WSTR last December. Boston Manor’s latest critically acclaimed album Welcome To The Neighbourhood was named Kerrang!’s Album of The Week and was met with multiple top scores by critics, meaning those who missed out on their UK tour last September are in for a treat too.

Joining the heavier acts on the bill are SHVPES, The Plot In You, Kublai Khan and Cruel Hand. Like Neck Deep, SHVPES last performed at Slam Dunk two years ago and have since released their second album Greater Than late last year.

The wild card of this announcement is grandson, who you can also find on the cover of this month’s Rock Sound. The Canadian-American trap rock artist, whose real name is Jordan Benjamin, made his way into the spotlight following his signing to Fuelled By Ramen and releasing hit EPs A Modern Tragedy Vol 1 and 2.

On the acoustic stage we have Justin Courtney Pierre (Motion City Soundtrack), Rob Lynch, Liam Patrick Cromby (ex We Are The Ocean), Chas Palmer-Williams (ex Lightyear), and Lizzy Farrall. This will be Pierre’s debut solo show so it isn’t one to be missed!

Although this is the last official announcement, Slam Dunk organisers have hinted that there are more surprises to come so stay tuned…
