The award winning 2000 Trees Festival have announced that their first headliner for 2020 is none other than the colossal Jimmy Eat World. The announcement follows the release of the group's excellent tenth full length record, Surviving.
A celebration of contemporary and alternative music as a whole, 2000 Trees has grown massively since it's humble inception in 2007, with the Cotswold festival now being one the major events in the summer festival season. On the subject of announcing Jimmy Eat World as it's first headliner, festival organiser James Scarlett has said;
"We don’t usually announce Trees bands before Christmas but having Jimmy Eat World as Main Stage headliner just got us too damn excited. I’m honestly absolutely certain this is going to be our biggest and best line up ever. We have another 50 odd bands ready to go but I’m afraid you’ll have to wait until January for details. My advice is get your tickets now before it sells out!"
Next year's festival follows from this year's massive event which played host to a phenomenal lineup that was composed of the likes of You Me At Six, Deaf Havana, Frank Turner, Every Time I Die, While She Sleeps and countless other incredible acts.
Alongside it's incredible lineups that champion fresh and original music, 2000 Trees has become one of the leading festivals in terms of green sustainability, with this year's event seeing the festival banning single use plastic whilst partnering with Frank Water and introducing the GreenGoblet scheme. The result of this was a six tonne reduction in waste in comparison to 2018 - a result that means approximately 13,500 plastic bottles where saved from landfill.
For next year's event, 2000 Trees will be partnering up with Attitude Is Everything, a charity that works alongside audiences, artists and industry professionals in order to improve deaf and disabled people's access to live music. On the subject of teaming up with 2000 Trees, Attitude Is Everything CEO Suzanne Bull has said;
“I’m thrilled that 2000 Trees are the first music company to announce how they are going to ‘play their part’ in Attitude is Everything’s 20th Anniversary next year. 2000Trees have chosen us as one of their charity partners: fans and guests of the festival will be able to donate to us when purchasing their tickets."
The festival has also announced that it will be partnering with Tree Aid, a charity that helps locals within the drylands of Africa by helping communities plant and maintain trees for current and future generations.
The confirmation of Jimmy Eat World coincides with the announcement of their world tour, with the band also playing Manchester Academy and O2 Academy Brixton on the 7th and 8th of July respectively. More bands for 2000 Trees will be announced in January. 2000 Trees 2020 takes place at Upcote Farm, Cheltenham between the dates of 9th -11th July.
