Bad news out the way first – due to the global COVID-19 pandemic, London punk witches Dream Nails will now be releasing their self titled debut on September 4th as opposed to next month. However, the band have released their latest single in the form of the righteously raging ‘Kiss My Fist’
A direct blow to the nose of all homophobes, ‘Kiss My First’ is a documentation of the abhorrent violence members of the LGBT+ face in everyday life. The track follows on from the release of 'Payback', another vitriol fuelled track focusing on the lack of justice and support of victims of sexual assault.
“As a queer woman, I live in fear of violence every day because of my sexuality and the way I look,” Explains guitarist Anya Pearson on ‘Kiss My Fist.’” We were all shocked by that image of queer couple Melania Geymonat and Christine Hannigan, who were left bloodied and bruised by a group of teenagers for refusing to kiss on a London bus."
"In the UK anti-LGBT hate crime has surged in the past five years. On the one-year anniversary of that attack, we are releasing 'Kiss My Fist' in honour of all the queer people of this world trying to get from A to B without getting beaten up. Our message to homophobes and transphobes is clear: ask us to kiss again, and we will eat your brain”
Dream Nails’ self titled debut is out on the new release date of September 4th via Alcopop! Records. The group will be embarking on a headline run in Autumn, all tickets for their original tour in April will be valid for the new dates. Dates for the tour will be announced soon.
