Hailing from the typically sun bleached streets of Melbourne, hardcore technicolour collective Dregg have announced their official signing to Epitaph Records. To coincide with the announcement, the band have also released their latest single ‘Hectic’.
Despite being a relatively new proposition, Dregg’s utterly wild aesthetic and sound have made them a topical point of interest on their home turf, allowing them to share stages with the likes of Stray From The Path, Deez Nuts, Counterparts, Knocked Loose, Hellions, Cane Hill and countless more. Providing tongue in cheek documentations on the bizarre current state of the world and unapologetic individualism, Dregg’s wild sound carries elements of metal, hardcore, nu-metal and rap at their most sickeningly vibrant. As proven with the aforementioned new track ‘Hectic’, there’s no subtleness to their sound, only bombastic adolescent fury channeled via optimistic nihilism.
On the subject of signing to Epitaph, Dregg have said: “It’s super humbling to be joining such an innovative yet true to its roots punk label that isn’t afraid to take risks and do things their own way,” says DREGG. “To be added to the list of greats that we grew up listening to is absolutely mind-blowing. In the spirit of the culture, it’s refreshing to see a label of such magnitude allowing their artists to have so much creative freedom. We’re as excited to be a part of Epitaph records as we are to watch the label grow into the new era of punk we’re endeavouring into.”
