The wild and unrivalled Bristol quartet Phoxjaw have shared their latest single in the form of ‘Triple AAA’. A violent and turbulent ride that showcases the band’s unique prowess, the track is the second taster of the band’s forthcoming debut Royal Swan, which is due to release July 3rd via Hassle Records.
Whilst the band had plans in place for the accompanying video, such designs where ultimately cancelled due to the ongoing national lockdown. However, in true vein of the band, the group have released a claustrophobic home filmed video that mirrors the intensity and bizarre brilliance of the band’s idiosyncratic sound.
“We were left in a sticky situation when lockdown was announced” details the band. “It was time to shoot a music video for our next single, however, unable to meet up in the same place or leave our homes, we decided in true Phoxjaw fashion to create something obscure from our own homes, using self-shot footage and throwing around the weirdest scenarios we could muster we came up with the music video to 'Triple AAA'. Edited by Danny Garland (Vocals/bass) and finalised by Kieran Gallop (Drums), in our usual fashion we didn't let a setback prevent us from creating something uniquely strange.”
The track is the follow up to the record’s first single ‘Half House’, which was unveiled earlier in March to coincide with the announcement of Royal Swan. The forthcoming release is the follow up to group’s brilliant extended plays Goodbye Dinosaur and A Playground For Sad Adults and is set to continue the group’s trail-blaze of success.
