Following on from the recent postponement announcement of this year’s 2000 Trees Festival, today the festival has announced the very first name for next year’s event.
Headlining the Thursday night of 2000 Trees 2021 is Jimmy Eat World, who was booked to headline this year’s event. Festival organiser James Scarlett has stated that next year will play host to a lot of names originally set to appear this year along with some new surprises.

“We’re mega excited to announce that Jimmy Eat World will be at 2000trees 2021 as our Main Stage Thursday headliner" says James Scarlett. "They were the first band we announced for 2020 so it felt like the right thing to let people know now. I also really can’t wait to shout about the rest of the 2021 line up – a little bit of inside info is that it will feature loads of the 2020 bands with some very special cherries on top. Watch this space!”
Along with the confirmation of next year’s first headliner, 2000 Trees has launched a crowdfunding campaign in order to secure the longevity of the festival. As a small independent business, the team have been dealt a critical blow by the ongoing pandemic and are set to receive minimum income this year.
In true 2000 Trees fashion, there’s a twist to this crowdfunding campaign – anyone who donates £100, £150 or £200 will receive a 50% return on their investment. So for example, if you where to pledge £100, you will receive £150 to spend on tickets, online merch or bar credit for next year. Help secure the survival of the festival and get free bevs, - it’s a win-win.
Of course, there’s still some ridiculous crowd funding awards on offer too- ranging from collective wristbands, limited edition merch and prints to toilet jump passes, drink-or-free passes, masterclasses, weekend tickets for life and even stage sponsorships. Pledge £10,000 and you’ll be sponsoring the main stage.
On top of this, all donations will be entered into a raffle to win one of five lifelong passes for 2000 Trees.
“Today we’ve launched a 2000trees crowd funder with some amazing rewards for our fans and supporters. As people are already aware, due to the COVID-19 pandemic 2000trees has been postponed until 2021." Continues James Scarlett. "This means that, as an independent business with no corporate backers this crowd funder will secure the long term survival of 2000trees and help to support thousands of others that depend on 2000trees each year. If people are able to help out then they will be a hero not just to the six of us who work all year round on the festival, but our whole team and everyone else that loves 2000trees.”
Since it’s origins in 2007, 2000 Trees has become one of the most crucial events of the contemporary festival season. The award winning festival has gained a reputation for simultaneously hosting some of the best talent in alternative music whilst fostering emerging talent and acting as a springboard for amazing young artists. The festival has also received nothing but acclaim for it’s intimate atmosphere, beautiful environment, inclusive demographic and independent, sustainable business practices.
2000 Trees Festival will take place between 8th - 10th July 2021 at it’s usual home of Upcote Farm, Cheltenham. Check here for all details regarding the crowdfunding campaign.
