Following on from releasing the track ‘Deflector’ last September, Los Angeles based post-hardcore veterans Touché Amoré have confirmed their new record Lament and it's release date of October 9th via Epitaph.

Their fifth full length and the follow up to the phenomenal and emotionally crippling 2016 record Stage Four, Lament see’s the group enter new territory with the album standing as their first release with legendary producer Ross Robinson (Deftones, At The Drive-In, Glassjaw). Offering a new glimpse into this new era of the band’s career is their latest single ‘Limelight’, a track that see’s vocalist Jeremy Bolm ruminating on a silent space within relationships rarely contemplated alongside Andy Hull of Manchester Orchestra. Offering an insight into the track, Bolm states;

“When you’re connected to someone long enough, and you’ve both suffered losses and been there for one another, there’s an understanding and a beauty to the quiet moments. There’s a great line in ‘Pulp Fiction’ when Uma Thurman boasts knowing when you’ve found someone really special, when you can just ‘shut the fuck up for a minute, and comfortably share silence’. I imagined that you’d be shamed for casually omitting that a day or two may go by without realizing you haven’t kissed your partner, but at no point did things feel bad. You’re just in it and it feels like home.”

Since their origins, Touché Amoré have strayed away from the more cliched ways within the genre, choosing to use their nuanced art to authentically document the human throes of adult angst, alienation and death. 2016’s Stage Four showcased this in a harrowingly beautiful fashion, with Bolm using the album to document the bereavement and pain left in the wake of his mother’s passing to cancer. Four years on and matured from their experiences, the band are set to use their emotional depth to offer hope and love to those feeling alienated within today’s archaic modern living.

Lament is released October 9th via Epitaph. Pre-order the record here.
