South Wales post rock collective FORT are back with an intimate new single in the shape of ‘Apnoea’ and we are overjoyed to premiere it.
Taken from their forthcoming EP and released via Stereo Brain Records, ‘Apnoea’ see’s the band channeling their primary inspirations of Explosions In The Sky, And So I Watch You From Afar and Mogwai in a manner most therapeutic and bittersweet. Simultaneously featherweight and musically dense, the track is a tender ode to the nature of swirling dreams and the inner distortion they harbour. Combined with it’s music video - one composed of tour travels, live shots and the close friendship between the band – the track and video is a documentation of the band’s career thus far, their goals and their refusal to submit to adversary.
“Apnoea is written about having a dream full of beautiful sights, sounds & landscape before a sudden awakening”, state FORT. “As you return to the dream, it changes its nature, distorting and swirling around you in ecstatic chaos, sending your head spinning. As you wrestle back control it returns to serenity, lulling you back into a peaceful slumber.”
